Abstract
Analytical methods for the characterization of MPs are well established to study these particles in the environment and in daily-life products. However, they can be time-consuming and may require sample preparation and fractionation steps.
Complementary mass spectrometric methods for direct MP screening and chemical characterization would be useful to have.
To evaluate the suitability of an ambient desorption/ionization (ADI) source (FAPA-MS) for analyzing MPs using direct sampling, high-temperature-sampling and laser-assisted-sampling strategies.
To improve the detection limits (DL) for MPs.
To explore a sample preparation approach compatible with FAPA-MS.
