Development and characterization of polymeric gas separation membranes for catalytic reactions

Abstract

In this work polymeric membranes for high temperature applications are developed. These include mixed-matrix membranes and thin-film composite membranes for gas separation. These membranes are used as catalytic membranes for hydrogen storage and for application in a membrane reactor for the methanation reaction. The scope of application of the newly developed membranes is the use for hydrogen requests, specifically for hydrogen separation, hydrogen storage and hydrogen usage. The newly developed membranes were characterized for their thermal, morphological and gas separation performances.
