Reducing risk from natural hazard, pollution and climat change in megacities and associated networks

Abstract

This chapter sets out the framework for managing urban environmental risks with a focus on coastal megacities. First, we briefly revisit the primary hazards that come with a coastal location. This is followed in turn by accounts of contemporary experiences of urban planning and risk management, mitigation and adaptation.
