Abstract
Attempts to expand the existing industrial applications of magnesium alloys are currently focussed on the utilisation of semi-finished products such as sheets. This chapter on the
rolling of magnesium alloys will consider all aspects along the processing chain for producing
magnesium-based sheet materials. A short historical review and an outline of the challenges in the modern industrial environment will also be given. The effects of processing parameters and special aspects of the rolling process on the mechanical properties and sheet formability
will be examined. Recent developments in magnesium sheet alloys will be discussed and
future trends will be outlined.
