Deformation and Fracture Behaviour of P91 Steel Weldments at High Temperatures

Abstract

Microtensile (MT) specimen tests are conducted across similar weld of P91 steel at 600°C. Specimens of different surface conditions are tested with two different loading rates of 0.2 mm/min and 0.5 mm/min to study the effects of surface finish and loading rate on mechanical properties, respectively. Deformation behaviour is studied using an SEM. Correlation is sought between microstructural behaviour and mechanical properties measured in micro and standard tensile tests in present paper.
