The current storm surge and storm surge season are set in relation with all previous and automatically assessed. The long-term data sets are at least 60 years long. At the German coast the current water level gauge is evaluated with long-term water level data sets for the stations Cuxhaven, Helgoland, Husum, Norderney, Travemünde and Warnemünde. The variables height, frequency, duration and intensity are reviewed to determine if the current storm season is normal or extraordinary.}, note = {Liu, X.; Weisse, R.; Meinke, I.; Meyer, E.: The StormSurgeMonitor for the German Coast.
