The load frame is highly flexible and modular and can be used in compression or tension mode applying forces of up to 1 kN and employing attenuation or phase-contrast techniques. We demonstrate its performance showing results from recent experiments investigating the failure of biodegradable Magnesium-based implants in rat bone under increasing load conditions.
