%T Direct insights into phase transformations in nano-scaled microstructures - Observation of orthorhombic phase formation in an advanced Gamma-TiAl alloy

%X Advanced Gamma-TiAl alloys with nano-scale modulated microstructures show significantly enhanced ductility behaviour. The microstructural modulation consists of several phases and at least one orthorhombic phase. Using in situ highenergy X-ray diffraction experiments we studied orthorhombic phase formation and have elucidated the formation path and the crystallographic structure of the phase that is formed.
