Based on this monomer, a π-conjugated alternating poly(thiophene-alt-pyrrole) PTP was synthesized via nickel and palladium catalyzed Kumada polycondensation. The optical and thermal properties of this polymer have been investigated and suggested a wide band gap polymer, with a very low Tg for such polymers.
