The elastic deformation is modelled in terms of the Helmholtz free energy density, and the deformation in the plastic regime is mapped by crystal plasticity theory. The yield stress temperature anomaly of intermetallics is incorporated in the model via the critical resolved shear stresses. The numerical results show a very good agreement with experimental results for a wide range of microstructural parameters and temperatures.
