Scanning electron microscopy analysis on the investigated alloy reveals that the depth of localized attack decreases when the alloy is friction stir processed. However, quantitatively friction stir processing alone might not solve the issue of high in-vitro degradation of the alloy, but this treatment could be highly beneficial in combination with a biocompatible coating.}, note = {Online available at: \url{https://doi.org/10.1007/s10856-011-4429-x} (DOI).
